Develop a Community Crime Prevention Action Plan
Introduction
This section describes eight stages in a Community Crime Prevention Action Plan. Each stage requires certain knowledge, skills and resources. In practice, it is usually not possible to break the process down into stages that can be addressed one at a time and in a prescribed sequence as decisions in one stage have an impact on the others. This section is organized so that you can apply any or all of the eight stages and in the sequence that makes the most sense in your community.
Following a brief description of each stage, two or three resources are highlighted. There are many other resources available on the Internet and through crime prevention organizations in Canada and across the world. The resources noted at the end of each stage are included to “get you started” and have been identified as providing sound and comprehensive information.
